Here are some resources for refugees and allies that we have collaborated with, or whose thoughtful content has adva

nced our understanding of government actions and policies that affect refugees and refugee resettlement.


#AfghanEvac – Formed in August 2021 during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, #AfghanEvac built and administers the mechanism for cooperation between U.S. government agencies and non-governmental, mostly volunteer, groups working to ensure the United States keeps its promise to our Afghan allies.


Church World Service or CWS – is a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. It has been among the leading refugee resettlement organizations in the U.S. since the 1942


Community Sponsorship Hub – was established in 2021, following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, to grow the role of communities in the protection, welcome and integration of refugees and other forcibly displaced people.


HIAS –provides vital services to refugees and asylum seekers around the world and advocates for their fundamental rights so they can rebuild their lives. https://hias.org/


IRAP or International Refugee Assistance Project – is a global legal aid and advocacy organization working to create a world where refugees and all people seeking safety are empowered to claim their right to freedom of movement and a path to lasting refuge.


RCUSA or Refugee Council USA – is a national coalition devoted to forcibly displaced people in the United States by serving as a thought leader and convener to mobilize expertise, ideas, and influence to protect the rights of refugees and asylees and build more welcoming societies.


Welcome.US – began in response to the fall of Kabul in August 2021 to expand U.S. refugee resettlement capacity (the U.S. State Department’s Reception & Placement Program was overwhelmed) by unleashing the desire and capacity of people across America to welcome newcomers and help them thrive.
